장비안내 The mainstream of the laboratory activity is focused on laser-matter interaction. The leading front of this research belongs also to ultra-fast optics, and that means the investigated process occur on unprecedented scale of a few tens of femtoseconds. All these processes depend on the ratio of the laser pulse background and the main part of the pulse. If in many applications the background is a parasite effect, frequently it is also used for so-called laser pulse shaping and in this sense it has to be precisely controlled. As the detailed knowledge of the pulse profile is indispensable for the laser matter interaction research, it requires highly developed measurement technique of the so-called pulse contrast. It is about the ratio of the main pulse peak intensity to the maximum intensity in the long-lived background.
