Recently, there have been a lot of studies examining the effect of Korea- China FTA on Korean agricultural sector. Many of the studies, however, are based on the assumption of the perfect competition of world agricultural market, which should be tested empirically. In this paper, using Knetter’s empirical model, which can test the level of market competition, we examined the pricing to market (PTM) behavior of Chinese exporters in several gallic and bean importing countries for pre- and post-WTO era. More price discrimination across destinations was observed after China joined the WTO, and this might imply that there will be a potential pricing to market behavior of China in Korean agricultural market after Korea- China FTA becomes effective.
