Abstract
Winter mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) substrate was used to investigate the characteristics of extracellular water-soluble polysaccharides (WSPs) and hydrolytic enzymes produced by Pedobacter sp. PR-M6. The dry weight of the relative insoluble substrate (IS) was found to increase continuously when cultured at 30 C compared with that at 20 C until day 7 of incubation. Three chitinase isozymes and one chitin deacetylase were identified by SDS-PAGE after 7 days of PR-M6 incubation. Analysis of the PR-M6 culture medium containing 1% winter 30 C. Dry weight of WSPs was the highest at 380 mg/100 mL in the mushroom medium at 20 C incubation. The WSP production efficiency was the highest at 1% mushroom substrate. Yields of WSPs were 67.83 mg/100 mL and 111.57 mg/100 mL in fresh matter and dry matter, respectively. WSP yield showed no significant difference between pH 3 and pH 8.
