"Slow tourism" development is regarded as a good alternative way of sustainable development. This study investigated the effectiveness of slow tourism development based on the case of "Slowcity Jeungdo" in Korea. By applying the measurement of perceptions toward tourism impact, it examined the changes in resident perceptions during the last four years from 2009 to 2012. The interpretation of results was compared with the philosophy and process of "Slowcity Jeungdo" development. However, the results from the empirical study do not provide a clear conclusion. Instead, the vibration of resident perceptions from tourism impact for the last four years implies unique information about the relationship between rapid growth and resident response. The discussion of results suggests considerable issues remain for research about perception changes and Slowcity development.
