Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present the quantitative evaluations on consulting and training policies for food industry, which is a timely attempt because it has been five years since government implemented food industry policy. The Difference in Differences model approach is applied to estimate the policy effects of consulting and training on the food companies that received financial supports from the government. The results show that the consulting and training activities substantially improved food companies'' sales volumes. In the case of consulting policies for food processing firms, the average sales volumes of the companies which received the consulting over the last 4 years were increased by 9∼16% as compared to those that did not receive the support. Accordingly, it is suggested that policies for improving food industry infrastructure will be continuously implemented in the near future.
