The fact that Japanese Christianity was introduced to modern Korea is not well-known. However, starting with Norimatsu Masayasu's arrival in Kyoungsung for the evangelization of Koreans in 1896, the three major denominations of the Japanese church (i.e., the Church of Christ in Japan, the Methodist Episcopal Church in Japan, and the Japanese Congregational Church) began missionary activities in Korea in 1904. With the backdrop of the forced annexation of Korea by Japan in 1910, discussions on missionary work in Korea intensified within the Japanese Christian community. This paper examines the patterns of the influx of Japanese Christian missions into modern Korea by analyzing data from 'The Official Gazette of Japanese Government General of Korea,' focusing on regional and temporal characteristics for each denomination. While previous studies have provided an overview of the overall trend of religious influx by the Japanese, this paper narrows its focus to Japanese Christian missions, analyzing each denomination separately.
