Globally near-threatened Cinereous vultures migrate from Mongolia to overwintering grounds in Korea. While Cinereous vulture populations are regularly wintering in Korea, they have frequently been found dead or moribund. In this short commentary, we highlight that the overwintering vulture populations are vulnerable to poisonous lead by feeding on carcasses, and describe some elements that are necessary for their conservation.
