With the increasing participation in outdoor recreation, various environmental issues have emerged. Given the current inadequacy of institutional and policy measures to address these problems, it is essential to explore solutions through the pro-environmental behaviors of recreation participants. This study investigates the effects of recreation specialization, motivations for pro-environmental behavior, and constraints on the intention to engage in pro-environmental behavior, with a focus on recreational fishing, an outdoor activity that directly utilizes environmental resources. To achieve this, survey data from 457 individuals who had participated in saltwater fishing along the southern coast of South Korea within the past 12 months were analyzed. The results indicated that recreation specialization positively influenced motivations for pro-environmental behavior while negatively affecting constraints. Furthermore, both motivations and constraints significantly impacted the intention to engage in pro-environmental behavior through perceived behavioral control.
