This study examines the characteristics of the professional life of professional ballet dancers, and explores and understands the meaning of professional consciousness as a professional ballet dancer, not the artistic life of ballet dancers, based on experience. In other words, I tried to explore the meaning of complexity, uniqueness, and identity experienced through professional consciousness, not artistic life. To this end, a case study, one of the qualitative research methods, was applied. Eight permanent members of the G Municipal Ballet, a national and public vocational organization, were selected as research participants, and a literature review, in-depth interview, and participatory observation were conducted using a traditional case study approach. The results obtained through this process are as follows. First, in the motivation and process of joining the ballet company for professional life, the pursuit of a stable job, strong passion and romance for the ballet company, and high barriers to joining the ballet company appeared.
