Abstract
In this paper , the fabrication and evaluation of chalcogenide-glass diffractive aspheric lenses used in thermal –imaging applications is discussed. A chalcogenide-glass diffractive-aspheric lens was fabricated using thecompression molding method, and the thermal deformation generated in the lens during its cooling wascompensated using mold iteration. The form error of the prepared lens was <1 . Furthermore, a comparison of ㎛the measured MTF performance of the molded lens with its designed MTF performance showed that thedeviation between the two was within 10%. The MTF value of the lens exceeded 20% at the Nyquist frequency(42 lp/mm), which confirmed that the lens could be used in thermal imaging applications.
