There is a report that anomaly behaviors of the animals are observed before the disaster which are especially a big flood or an earthquake. And we can find them in the old story. In this study, I surveyed some of the old stories(total 51stories) related to natural disasters in Japan, and studied focusing on animal stories related to flood or earthquake and human sacrifice. First, most of the stories related to disaster were concentrated in the East Japan, especially in Fukushima Prefecture and Tochigi Prefecture. And there were various kinds of animals played a role of arousing disaster and warning of disaster. Then I can find that the most appropriate response to natural disasters is humility to listen to the sounds of nature such as animals. Finally, I have been able to find through the old story that there has been a bad practice of sacrificing human sacrifices to prevent and overcome natural disasters in Japan of old times. This also teaches us the Japanese of old times always were being in a humble attitude in front of nature.
