Abstract
With the current popularization, specialization, and segmentalization of nail art, the gel nail products that used to be only sold in specialized shops could be easily seen from home-shopping or internet shopping. Especially, the current nail tip is one of the self-nail products rapidly growing. As a nail art material that could be attached in a second, there is the attachable nail tip which is sensationally popular. The objective of this study is to suggest the future direction for the development of nail tip design by analyzing each nail tip brand distributed by domestic home-shopping. The methods of this study are as follows. The theoretical research focused on specialized books and literary data. The analysis frame of pattern and decoration was established based on preceding researches. Colors were based on Hun&Tone suggested by Munsell's Basic Color Chart. For the empirical research, the nail tip design distributed by domestic home-shopping was analyzed in each brand. Especially, in the results of searching all the domestic home-shopping, it aims to examine the nail tip brands of GS Shop, Hyundai Home-Shopping, CJ Home-Shopping, Lotte Home-Shopping, and NS Home-Shopping distributing the most attachable gel nail tips, and also to analyze the design of total 587 nail tips such as 293 nail tips of Dianas Geltip, 36 of CORAL&FLOWER, 13 of NAIL'sNAIL, 207 of DASHIN DIVA, and 38 of KISS NEW YORK after excluding the overlapping designs of each brand. The formative elements for the analysis of nail tips were classified in the aspect of pattern, color, and decoration. The results of analyzing the formativeness of nail tip design of five brands distributed by domestic home-shopping are as follows. Regarding the pattern of five brands, the geometric pattern and abstract pattern were much expressed. In case of color, there were R, RP/Vp, Dp, YR/Vp, PB/B, and PB/Dl. Regarding the decoration, the striping tape and stone were used the most. On top of examining diverse nail tip designs currently distributed, this study would be used as important data for the future direction of nail tip design based on the current trend.
