Abstract
As the beauty industry further develops improved service quality, customers’ expectations also increase and employees’ mental stress grows higher in diverse situations. This study segmented beauty industry employees’ job stress factors and analyzed the importance of each variable by characterizing organizational citizenship and quality of life. This study analyzed the opinions of 410 beauty industry employees using SPSS 21.0 statistical program. Three-phased mediation regression analysis was implemented to characterize mediated effects along with frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach’s α, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis and linear regression analysis. Here, we identify four job stress factors (ie, role-related, interpersonal relationrelated, compensation-related, and family-related). Descriptive statistical analysis was used to identify any potential correlation between each variable and revealed that, in terms of sub-factors of job stress, role-related stress (p<0.001), interpersonal relation-related stress (p<0.001), compensation-related stress (p<0.01), and family-related stress (p<0.001) were statistically significantly and negatively (-) correlated with organizational citizenship behavior. Rolerelated stress (p<0.01), interpersonal relation-related stress (p<0.001), compensation-related stress (p<0.001), and family-related stress (p<0.001) had statistically significant negative (-) correlations with the quality of life. Moreover, the organizational citizenship behavior (p<0.001) was observed to have a statistically significant positive (+) correlation with quality of life. Given that beauty industry employees’ organizational citizenship behavior and quality of life decreased due to their high job stress, it seems necessary to consider offering mentoring, coaching, counseling, etc. to such employees to prevent their emotional labor while contemplating individual and social ways to help reduce and, ultimately, solve emotional disharmony
