Abstract
This study researched about making activated carbon from waste tires, and the characteristics of adsorbing heavy metals(Cu2+, Cd2+, Pb2+) from a water solution using the activated carbon. As for pore structure, meso- or bigger pores were developed relatively more than micro-pores, and the BET surface area was shown as 70.705 m2/g. Heavy metal adsorption of activated carbon produced from waste tires was more superior than other commercial activated carbon.
