This study has examined the content of a number of military manuals and guidelines in early modern period, including the Japanese Army Drill Book, a military drill guidebook used prior to the Daehan Jeguk period, Infantry Training Manual used by the Daehan Jeguk Army and Sinheung Hagubo and the Training Manual for Officers of the National Independence Army for Bukro Gunjeongseo as well as any interrelationships with the Draft of Infantry Training Manual published by the Defense Ministry of the provisional government based on the interpretations for these materials. For this, I have looked into the publication background and the format of the Infantry Training Manual and the Draft of Infantry Training Manual and conducted comparative analysis between the Draft of Infantry Training Manual and these military manuals and guidelines to identify any possible inter -relationships. As a result of this study the military-historical implications of the 『Draft of Infantry Training Manual』are summarized as follows. First, it is an invaluable source for understanding the national independence army. Second, it is a practical military manual and guideline for tactical training of the national independence army. Third, it allows one to understand the transition process of military doctrines and terminologies of the Korean Army. Fourth, it allows one to look into one aspect of the military policies of the provisional government at the time.
