The author reviews some representative studies of cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and psychiatry on reconstructive memory and memory distortion. The discussion focuses primarily on the issue of witness testimony and recovered memory of childhood abuse, and introduces the controversy of cognitive psychological perspective and psychiatric perspective on the truth of recovered memory.
