It is critical to understand the military education and the level of training for the national independence army by properly interpreting the available military manuals used for the purpose of training the army. It is reasonable to assume that the『Infantry Training Manual』of the Korean Empire was used to train and educate national independence fighters although clear evidence for that has yet to be presented. With the excavation of the 『Sinheung Hagubo』and the『Training Manual for Officers of the National Independence Army』 at this point in time, this study has interpreted the activities of Shinheung Military School and Independence Army of Bukno Gunjeongseo as well as their military education and training from a contemporary perspective. The articles written in『Sinheung Hagubo』describe the content of the military education textbook for the independence army. In light of the fact that a significant portion of the『Draft of Infantry Training Manual』was excerpted from the『Infantry Training Manual』of the Korean Empire, the『Training Manual for Officers of the National Independence Army』was also presumably prepared with the『Infantry Training Manual』as its basis. In the vein, it is not far-fetched to think that I refer to the『Draft of Infantry Training Manual』 for the Provisional Government of Korea was also prepared on the basis of the 『Infantry Training Manual』and the『Training Manual for Officers of the National Independence Army』. There is a need for further studies on conducting a comparative in-depth analysis between the『Infantry Training Manual』and the『Draft of Infantry Training Manual』with regards to the military education and training described in these manuals along with a successful excavation of these two materials.
