The Korean Standard Pronunciation(KSP) was not comprised in Standard Language Norm(SLN) enacted in 1936 for the first time. It has been included in the second part of the Revision of SLN proclaimed in 1988. The establishment of KSP started in 1970 when the revision of SLN has begun. It took long time : two years for the field work, five years for the conference, two years for the examination. The result has been produced in 1979 but not promulgated. After that, KSP has been changed completely through the investigation of the National Academy of Korean Language. The new version was opened to the public in 1987 and some alteration was added to it.
