Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how community attachment affects the attributes to select a family restaurant and also how it differs by the types of preferences on a major brand or a local brand. To attain the goal, a survey was conducted from May 27th till June 21st, 2013, and total 333 questionnaire sheets were used for analysis. The data collected went through Frequency Analysis, Factor Analysis, Regression Analysis, and Chow-test with SPSS 17.0 for Windows. According to the analysis result, identity and dependence influence user convenience and services, and identity and social familiarity affect the food and menu. According to the types of preferences on family restaurants, about the major brand, identity and dependence affect user convenience and services, and identity influences the food and menu while in the local brand, identity affects user convenience and services, and identity and social familiarity influence the food and menu. This implies that it is important for the major brand to maintain general services and for the local brand to exhibit regional characteristics as much as possible.
