Kim Young-il is commonly known as a writer who wrote children’s verse as free verse for the first time, advocated ‘free verse argument’ in Korean children’s verse history. However, he didn’t spread out, write such a writing. Well, Where did this misunderstanding for him originated from. The beginning has begun from Lee Jae Chul’s estimation for him. Lee Jae Chul praised him highly as a writer who “mentioned earliest children’s verse as free verse in Korean children’s literature.” Studies of Kim Young-il achieved so far can be read as that on such a premise I would like to say obviously in this paper that premise is unreasonable,and why did he set Kim Young-il on such a post.
