Abstract
Recently with the introduction of the one-person media, interest in beauty-related YouTube videos and thumb- nail production is growing. In particular, as interest in revenue generation increases, competitiveness in this field is expected to expand. Accordingly, this study aims to present a new ID for thumbnail production by selecting and analyzing most-viewed makeup video thumbnails. The analysis criteria included image, typography, typography color, image layout, typography word count, typography layout, and keywords, focusing on the top 10 most-viewed videos. The analysis revealed that clear Gothic font was the most common in all thumbnails. The ratio of white color was high, and the number of words in typography was less than 10 on average. Regarding image layout, the most common placements were the mid- dle right, top right, and center left. The typography layout was widely distributed in the upper right area, with emphasis on the top section of the image. This study aims to provide valuable insights that can serve as a competitive advantage for beauty-related content creators by highlighting the thumbnail characteristics and preferences of most-viewed videos. In addition, it will help improve viewership and marketing by providing useful information on thumbnail production to beauty creators who produce makeup content.
