Abstract
This study presents the design and fabrication of infrared (IR) lenses using chalcogenide glass materials formounting on vehicles. To ensure athermalization performance, we composed two lenses using chalcogenideglass (As40Se60) materials with a low thermo-optic coefficient (dn/dT). Each lens was designed such that thefocus of the lens shifted in opposite directions when the temperature changed. The designed lens wasfabricated using a compression-molding process. Through MTF measurements and qualitative athermalizationevaluation of the lens module, it was determined that the optical design and lens preparation process appliedin this study can be used to fabricate athermalized IR lenses for vehicle mounting.
