The development of rural areas in Korea has changed from physical capital expansion through environmental improvement to human capital to strengthen residents' capabilities, but social capital which is being presented as an alternative as regional vitality and sustainability is limited. Social capital has the characteristics of being activated by accumulation and sharing as an important growth factor in the relationship between individuals and communities. This study examines the impact of participation in community programs on social capital among Rural Center Revitalization Projects. And to seek ways to utilize them for performance management. For this study, a survey of local residents was conducted focusing on the Damyang-eup Rural Center Revitalization Project. As a result of the study, it can be seen that the social capital of residents who are interested in and participating in community organizations or community projects is higher than those who are not, which is achieving a positive effect. The accumulation of social capital using the rural area development project will be an opportunity to find new vitality in rural areas and secure a sustainable driving force.
